Well, that time has arrived...It's a little more than a week before my due date, and I'm feeling rather large and uncomfortable. The only pants I have to wear are my husband's pajama pants!
All my previous babies arrived at least a week before their due dates, so of course I'm starting to feel a bit anxious, wondering if this little one will be showing her face any time soon.
I've gotten all the baby clothes organized. I have diapers nicely stacked. I have multigrain bread, oatmeal cookies, blueberry muffins and pumpkin soup in the freezer so I have snacks after the baby is born. And for the munchies I am suffering from now pretty much constantly, I made up two big jars of trail mix out of iron-rich foods.
I have every item suggested on my midwife's list of homebirth supplies. I can't believe I'm saying this, but my house is relatively clean and organized from top to bottom. Homeschooling is planned out to the end of the year! There's nothing else for me to do really, but wait.
So wait is what I will do. I find it hard to think about much else lately but the new baby, so don't be surprised if I don't post for a wee bit. I will however, drop in with a picture or two after the big day finally arrives. Until then...
Exciting. Hopefully this isn't the one that comes 14 days late!
Funny you were writing not long ago that you felt tired and behind, now you are ahead. Good planning.

Mine were both LATE! Babies have their own time schedule, at least you are prepared.

Glad you are all prepared. I think it is the end of pregnancy that is hardest. You know they have to come some time, so you just want them to arrive and join the family.

Oh Laura, how exciting! I still have this bag full of 6-12mo baby girl clothes here, plus some of my favourite little shoes that Raina has outgrown and some mittens I knit and a snowsuit. Let me know if you want it and it is yours, otherwise I will donate it. :)

Mmm...that trail mix looks good! Hopefully in a week or so I'll be as ready as you. That wall-washing energy just kicked in here a couple of days ago, so I'm hoping to get lots done before the end of the weekend. Blessings for a peaceful birth!

How wonderful to have so much prepared. That is my goal by the time our new ones arrives as well. I have never been very well prepared in the past for other babies.
You look great Laura. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Warm wishes, Tonya

Oh so exciting! It is a miserably uncomfortable time but was also my favorite part of being pregnant. Just the thought that you were never quite sure when it was going to happen, and then all the excitement leading up to the big moment!
Good luck!! You seem so well prepared you don't need luck but I will offer it up anyway!
