A truly lovely surprise.

Yesterday a mystery package arrived in my mailbox. When I opened it, much to my delight it contained some beautiful hand-made gifts for Amy, from a very kind and generous online friend.

First was a soft and colourful quilted flannel blanket. (Sorry for the dark pictures. Our bedroom isn't very bright.)

I love this blanket! Not only because it's soft and pretty, but because it's a nice big square, which means it's perfect for swaddling up a newborn nice and cozy. I didn't have any blankets already that were the right size for this.

With the blanket was a darling little wool sweater, and a sweet and girly bib.

Aren't they just precious! I am so blessed to have such a friend...

Things are going well here as we ease into a new family rhythm. Amy is doing well--she has already surpassed her birthweight--and I myself am feeling quite good, which is not surpising considering my wonderful husband waited on me hand and foot for the first 5 days or so after I gave birth. He made sure I got all the rest I needed, and took care of everything. He did all the laundry and cleaning and childcare, brought me treats, and even cooked gourmet meals! What a man. :)

I am richly blessed, indeed.
